Called at 9.30 am to speak to somebody as my mum's dog (whom I am looking after) was severely bleeding when he had a bowel movement and vomiting. Told that as my dog is registered with another branch they were not connected, but they would call me back in 10 minutes. Called at 10 am as had not heard spoke to most unhelpful receptionist who told me probably not. I asked if she could find out for sure even if I had to pay again. Told would call back at 10.30. At 11 I called back again and spoke to first guy who told me they needed vet to come out of consultation (despite me hearing him welcoming patient into their appointment) and they would call me back. It's now 12.15 and I've still heard nothing. Absolutely appalling.

The vets and staff are all really nice but I was quoted £700/£800 to clean my cats teeth!! obviously I managed to find a much more reasonably priced (£290) vet with a great reputation, do your research when being quoted for treatments would be my advice….

I called the practice this morning as I had a number of questions of how their pet plan scheme worked, what it covered, and what might happen in different circumstances, so that I could chose if the plan was right for us. Armin answered the call, and although I am sure they were busy, he could not have been more kind, patient and knowledgeable on the subject. I wasn't rushed, I felt that my questions were being taken seriously and answered by someoine that knew 100 percent what they were talking about. My sincere compliments to Armin, the surgery and Vets4Pets themselves for having such a great member of staff.

Vets for pets Wimbledon have been there for me and my 10-year-old dog since I got him. The reception staff are always friendly and willing to help when needed and Syd has been an amazing vet to my dog over the last 10 years. Whenever my dog and I have gone to see him, whether that is for health reasons, accident or a checkup Syd always takes the time to explain everything and answer any of my question, which I always have loads off. I am very grateful to him and his team.

My experience with this practice is about two years old. But I've been sitting reflecting on the medical treatment of my own dog recently, and realise how badly my uncle and his injured bestie were treated. Because my uncle didn't have insurance I believe his dog was left to suffer. She had an injury that would have been very expensive to repair. After being pulled around by the vet at V4P, she was dosed up on painkillers and sent home. The crying when the painkillers started to wear off actually broke my heart. I got involved when my uncle wanted to get another opinion, and get her some help. So followed the nightmare of getting her records sent across, urgently. I think I had to call at least 4 times before this happened. All the while the poor dog was crying my house down, as was my uncle. Long story short; she was put down later that week. The vet who did that was crying with me on the phone when explaining the situation, and wrote my uncle (who was too upset to attend) the most lovely letter of condolence afterwards. I KNOW it is a difficult, heart rending job, but I honestly believe this practice let everyone down. And the reason? My uncle wasn't insured and the vet didn't think he could pay. We'd have found the money, between family members. This is the state of vetinerary medicine today; over-priced and capable of sending away a patient in severe need. I don't know why it's taken me so long to review this whole situation. I'm frankly disgusted. I don't tend to go into vet bashing. I have friends in the profession - the corporations behind most vet brands are vultures - the staff are not. BUT I am sad and angry thinking about how it played out. I'd already had reservations after another friend switched from the same vets just a few months previously, after years of custom. Please advocate for your pet, and remember - you can get another opinion elsewhere. You can register at other places too.
